Just across the road from the Floatarium, in picturesque St Stephen's Street, is one of my favourite cafes, Sprio. 

The coffee there is among the best in the city, on par with anything you would find in Italy. 

It might be just the thing after an hour's float.

Further down the high street you can window shop at small art galleries, or browse independent clothes shops.

You will also find traditional butchers and fishmongers who provide high-quality, local produce. 

A short walk away is the Royal Botanic Garden, a 70-acre idyllic bliss in the busy Scottish capital.
