Sitting just north of the beautiful city centre of Edinburgh is Leith, previously the old maritime centre.

Having seen somewhat of a massive redevelopment from its previous ‘hey-day’ Leith is now a popular escape from the hustle and bustle of the busy city with a range of dockside cafes, bars and Michelin star restaurants. However this just a small number of the various things to see and do in Leith.

Take a walk by the sea

Go and visit the picturesque waterfront to have a stroll.

This vibrant walkway emerges at the Shore, an upmarket area lined with stunning cafes, stylish bars, traditional pubs and sophisticated restaurants.

Arguably the most popular tourist attraction in the whole of Leith though is the Royal Yacht Britannia at Ocean Terminal.

This spectacular ship was the royal yacht of Queen Elizabeth II and was used by the royal family for many years, from 1954 to 1997.
