What is iCal and how do I use it?
What is iCal?To help save you time and hassle, we’ve introduced a new feature that will automatically update your availability calendar. Using some fancy technology (called iCal), you can feed your availability from another website you advertise your property on, or your property management/online booking software (such as Kigo or SuperControl), into your listing on our website.
How do I use iCal?To get this set-up, you first need the iCal feed from the other website, or other booking/property management system. Then, go to your availability screen in our console (where you usually block off dates for your listing with us). Click the 'ical import' button at the bottom of the screen and follow the instructions. It should take less than a minute!
How often is iCal updated?Updates happen once every 24 hours. The updates put quite a strain on our servers, which is why we don't do them more often. However, if someone attempts to book your property on our website, we'll go off and do a quick update before they can proceed (without them noticing). If the iCal feed says your booked already, we'll let them know the property can't be booked.
Can iCal feeds work the other way?Yes. With our booking software you can also feed your availability information out of our system using iCal, allowing you to update availability on other websites based on the information on our website.
To do this, in the same screen as your availability calendar scroll to the bottom and to the right, under 'The iCal URL (.ics file) is' You'll need to copy and past the iCal link below and provide that to any other websites you advertise on.
