Why do guests need to pay a security deposit?

We ask guests for refundable security deposits for several reasons:

  • By paying a security deposit, we find that guests take greater care of the property and its contents during their stay.
  • The requirement of a security deposit discourages guests who intend on causing damage from booking with us.
  • The risk of damage is reduced, and any repairs or replacements can be made quickly, which reduces the impact on future guests (i.e. when guests arrive at the property there is less likely to be any damage caused by the previous guests).

On each property listing, where the property is managed directly by Reserve Apartments, we state the amount required for the refundable damage deposit and the refund process. For example: 

"A £200 refundable damage/security deposit is due 7 days before arrival, and refunded 5-7 working days after departure, subject to an inspection of the property."
