West End Festival in Glasgow 2019
One event that takes pride of place on many Glaswegians’ calendars is the West End Festival. With over 400 events across 80 venues, this festival's much anticipated programme has recently been released.
The festival will include a number of gala days, activities and projects including the country's first drag queen murder mystery event. There will be something for everyone, with acts ranging from exhibitions, performances (comedy, music, dance, theatre), guided walks, workshops and loads of events for the kids. Many of these events are free so if you are in Glasgow through June, don’t miss this amazing opportunity to fill up your stay with new experiences and a variety of culture.
Below is a promotional video for last year's event which gives you an idea of the type of events on offer.
Other notable events include the closing event which is planned (with all details still to be revealed).
Currently the Festival is on the hunt for new volunteers and Board members.
Michael Dale, festival director, said: “We are very excited about the programme this year and in particular the closing event at Cottiers on 30 June, with live performances from WEF’s favourite acts.”
Glasgow's West End Festival runs from Friday 31st May to Sunday 30th June.
