Mother's Day is celebrated on different dates depending on where you live.

In the UK it is celebrated on the fourth Sunday of Lent each year. 

The origins of this day date back to the 16th century, when people went 'a-mothering' to their 'mother' church on the fourth Sunday of Lent, usually the local parish church or the church where they were baptised.

Over time this became a day for the family to spend together, with children often picking flowers for their mothers.

And so the Mother's Day tradition was born.

Although this religious tradition has now become more secular it offers the chance to spoil your Mum, Grandma or a special woman in your life.
