Prepare to be amazed by this 1 bedroom, traditional Georgian apartment. Situated to the north of New Town, in the affluent area of Stockbridge, the terrace apartment is walkable to the city centre and is surrounded by many unique shops, bars and cafes.

From the lounge, you are treated to views of Carlton Street through two massive windows; which show off the spaciousness and allow plenty of light in. A unique balance of antiques and more contemporary touches is at work in this room, blending with the tranquil atmosphere to allow you to unwind after an event packed day. To add to the grandeur, a glamourous chandelier maintains the light after dark.

In the bathroom you will find a bath with a shower over it, perfect for all preferences. When you are ready to unwind, the hallway will lead you to the spacious and peaceful double bedroom with great views of the gardens to the rear of the property. The contemporary kitchen is fully functional and will provide everything required to prepare meals, including a breakfast bar to enjoy them at.

If you enjoy walks in the park, this apartment is perfect as you are a short distance from the Botanic Gardens, the Water of Leith and Inverleith Park. If you wish to travel further there are plenty of frequent bus services that can shuttle you all around the city.

-Booking Requirements-
We require names and ages of all guests, as well as addresses and ID. We will require the lead guest to sign copy of our terms and conditions. We reserve the right to vet any booking. This apartment is not suitable for stag parties, hen parties or young single sex groups or parties. One member of the booking party must be over 25 years. There is a strict no-smoking policy. A damage deposit of £250 is required one week before arrival and will be fully refunded pending no damages one week after your departure.

Parking notes There is metered parking on nearby streets. Parking is free Monday to Saturday 6.30 pm till 8.30 am and all day on a Sunday.

    Interior layout The sitting room in this apartment is gorgeous, spacious and light with two huge windows looking out on to Carlton Street. It features seating and dining for four and is a room to spend time in! The relaxing colour theme and mix of antique and modern furniture work very well and a glistening chandelier tops adds glamour.

    The newly renovated bathroom has a large walk in shower and is located off the hallway as are all the rooms in the apartment. The large, quiet bedroom has a double bed and overlooks the back of the property and neighbours pretty gardens. The bright modern kitchen is fully fitted, with all mod cons and has a breakfast bar for two.

    Local area The location gives guests the chance to visit the nearby Royal Botanic Gardens, and InverLeith Park. Stockbridge is a joy to explore and there are pleasant walks along the nearby Water of Leith. The main business districts of Edinburgh are within walking distance from the apartment. Regular bus services run close by to the City Centre and many other areas of Edinburgh.

    As a short background for history buffs, the property was designed by James Milne in 1824 as a 2-storey and basement, 3-bay townhouse and now Carlton Street is hailed as one of the most beautiful streets in Edinburgh.

    Stockbridge is one of those worlds within a larger world, just down from the hub of city centre Edinburgh. Stockbridge is a hidden store of delightful treasures for the vintage shopper. Also, Stockbridge is the host for some of the best earning charity shops in the UK. Nearby there are also fantastic eateries and cafes. A wonderful little Italian themed café, Sprio Deli, is the place to go for that afternoon snack and your revitalising coffee burst. Sprio isn’t just an Italian-themed café, it’s one which reflects the sights and smells of the country, from the cool, brightly-designed furniture to the action-packed fumetti adorning the walls and a range of imported Italian sweets, magazines and dry goods.

    An honourable mention this time goes to the Stockbridge Restaurant, a family-run restaurant that amazes in its care for detail, its mouth-wateringly inventive menu and a space, where you can enjoy a relaxed, unpretentious dining experience. You can tell a lot of thought and skill is going into the cooking of Head Chef Jason, and his partner Jane is putting a lot of care into the running of this wonderful gem.

    An alternative for your choice of dinner could very well be the Café Fish, with its simple philosophy of 100% fresh produce that’s simply cooked, menus in line with what the markets were selling on any particular day, complemented with wines matched to the menu structure, and sensibly priced! With the best seafood in the world often found off the coasts of Scotland, it is no wonder that there is an abundance of seafood restaurants.

    For more down-to-earth dining experience, Cambridge Bar would be the one to aim for; a hearty, good bar centrally located but nestled away from all the shoppers on George/Princes Streets.

    Some information on the welcome pack was out of date - in particular instructions about putting out rubbish and the system in Edinburgh now involves recycling, a change of uplift day for non-recyclable rubbish and different bags to do it in. We ran out of washing up liquid and though we asked for some more, none appeared.
    However, the housekeeper arranged for us to check in early and someone was there to meet us when we arrived, as arranged

    Like a mini stately home - in a beautiful part of town, on a quiet street, but very close to all the amenities of Stockbridge and only 15 minutes walk to the middle of Edinburgh. Good public transport system to.
