This luxurious three bedroom apartment with private roof terrace is situated in a fantastic part of Glasgow’s famous West End. Just 150m from Glasgow’s Botanic Gardens, the location is suitable for families, friends or business travellers. The Blue House is on the corner of Great Western Road and Kirklee Road in the heart of the West End; a popular tourist district of cafés, tea rooms, bars, boutiques, hotels, and restaurants in the hinterland of Kelvingrove Park. The apartment is also close to Glasgow University, as well as Gartnaval, the Beatson and Nuffield Hospitals. The city centre is easily accessed by several buses along Great Western Road. For those travelling by car, there is plenty of free parking at The Blue House.
The apartment is elevated from street level and can be reached by a staircase at the rear of the building. The interior is spread over two floors and the rooms have been beautifully furnished by the property owner who previously lived there. There are two double bedrooms, one with en-suite bathroom plus a further twin bedroom. The bedrooms are located on the first floor reached via a charming hallway with hardwood flooring. There is a large modern family bathroom also on the first level with bath and shower over.
A fantastic staircase leads into the second floor and living area. The upstairs is extremely spacious and light with plenty of seating space to enjoy the large screen TV, DVD or complimentary Wifi. The traditional dining table and six chairs are perfect for hosting all the family. Sliding doors lead outside from the sitting area to a fantastic roof terrace, which can accommodate six or more people comfortably.
The open plan kitchen area is of high quality, contemporary and with fully integrated appliances including fridge/freezer and dishwasher. The kitchen is fitted with a gas hob and electric oven, plus a microwave for convenience. All accessories you would require during your stay can be found in the cupboards.
The apartment is fortunate to be directly above the local grocery store and ATM and the larger supermarkets on Byres Road can be reached within 10 minutes by foot. Byres Road has a host of local amenities and is among the best areas of Glasgow for restaurants, bars and cafes. The West End is also home to the Kelvingrove Art Gallery, Kelvin Hall International Sports Arena, Henry Wood Hall (home of the Royal Scottish National Orchestra) and the Museum of Transport. The West End Festival, one of Glasgow’s largest festivals, is held annually in June.
